David Swift and the Jools Holland Orchestra Choose the Sandarac Volante Bass for World Tour
"We are very pleased to report that our good friend, and excellent bassist, David Swift of the Jools Holland Orchestra chose a Dupont Volante collapsible double bass from Essex based bass specialists Sandarac for the band’s latest world tour. The punishing 25 day schedule started in Amsterdam and finished in Buenos Aires with the guys, and the bass, travelling some 35,000 miles and playing many of the finest venues in the world including the famous Blue Note in Japan.
The Volante bass, designed especially for the touring musician, was certainly challenged during the tour having to cope with airline handlers, road crew, and some extremes of temperature and humidity. Despite the rigours of life on the road, the bass, and player, alike were able to deliver the cool, fantastic, Volante double bass sound at each performance."
